Fantasy hockey · Yahoo companion app · Canada first

The app that knows your league's math.

Puck Luck values every NHL player on your league's exact scoring and roster rules, then tells you who to draft, who to start tonight, who to add before the room does, and which trade actually helps. Every call comes with the number behind it.

What it does

Draft room

One recommended pick, two alternatives, the cost of waiting until your next turn, structural-hole warnings and a round-by-round plan that adapts as the room drafts.

Every day of the season

Lineup for tonight's games using real position eligibility, confirmed goalie starts, progress toward weekly goalie minimums, and streaming adds that respect your acquisition limit.

Waivers and trades

Ranked adds with the specific drop, off-night and back-to-back schedule value, playoff-week game counts, and trade analysis based on what each player is worth to your roster, not a generic rank.

Connect Yahoo

Sign in with Yahoo. Puck Luck reads your league's settings, roster and matchups. Nothing to paste, nothing to configure.

We do the math

Two seasons of NHL data, sourced injury and depth-chart reports, and your scoring weights produce a value for every player in your league's terms.

You get the call

Draft picks, lineups, adds and trades with the reasoning, the confidence, and what would change the recommendation.

You act in Yahoo

Every recommendation links straight to the right Yahoo page. Puck Luck never makes a move for you.

How the Yahoo connection works

Puck Luck uses the official Yahoo Fantasy Sports API with OAuth 2.0. You authorize on Yahoo's own sign-in page; Puck Luck never sees your password. Access is read-only: league settings, your roster and lineup, available players, transactions, draft results, matchups and standings for the leagues you choose to connect. You can disconnect at any time from the app or from your Yahoo account settings.

Player statistics, schedules and news come from separately licensed sports-data and news providers, not from Yahoo. Fantasy data is provided by Yahoo Fantasy and displayed with Yahoo's required attribution.

Privacy

What we collect

Your Yahoo fantasy league data for the leagues you connect (settings, rosters, transactions, matchups, standings, draft results), the Yahoo user identifier needed to keep your connection working, and, if you create a Puck Luck account, an email address. No contacts, no location, no advertising identifiers.

What we do with it

We use it to compute and display recommendations to you. We do not sell it, share it with advertisers, or use it to train models. Yahoo data is refreshed on demand and cached only as long as needed to show your session; it is deleted when you disconnect a league or delete your account, and in any case within the retention limits Yahoo sets for its API.

Your controls

Disconnect Yahoo, export your data, or delete your account at any time from Settings. Data or deletion requests can also be sent to joeleffbrown@gmail.com.

Not a gambling product

Puck Luck offers no wagering, no entry fees and no odds. It is a decision-support tool for season-long fantasy leagues.

2026-27 beta

Puck Luck is being built by a Yahoo Fantasy Hockey manager in Toronto and is running through the 2026-27 season with a small group of beta managers on a web preview while the iOS app is developed. Public beta access opens in October 2026, Canada first.

To join the beta or ask a question, email joeleffbrown@gmail.com with your Yahoo league size and scoring type. Founder: Joel Brown.
